Clauger – CLA

Clauger centralizes all its specific knowledge in installations and in services by offering products or solutions that correspond to today’s major issues (Thermal storage, Recover and add value to the energy coming from waste heat, etc.)
Role in the project
As Clauger is specialized on thermal storage for industrial refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, the following activities will be performed:
- deep involvement in WP3 for the realization of a suitable prototype of thermal storage for gas turbine air inlet conditioning, but also for the storage of hot water in PHCC CHP demonstration layout
- according to the expertise of the department of chemistry working on PCM thermal storage Clauger activities are focused on the selection of the most suitable thermal storage technology
- Clanger’s role will be to test some thermal energy materials and configuration storages (TES) in agreement with T3.1 and T3.2 for cold temperature around 5°C, warm temperature around 70-80°C and hot temperature around 120°C. In T3.1 CLA will test different chemical solutions to improve the stratification using thermocline and/or halocline and/or pycnocline. In T3.2, CLA will test different PCMs according to storage temperature, with focus on heat capacity, latent heat and subcooling. These phase change materials will be in adequacy with some classical commercial heat exchangers.
Mr. Pascal Desnos: he is CLAUGER Technical Manager. He is specialized in the production and distribution of cold energy and specialized in heat pump technology. For this H2020 project he is the technical support in the understanding and adaptation of Phase Change Materials with the project's heat pump.
Mr. Stéphane Alajarin: he is the principal manager of new process for Clauger. He manages all Clauger's collaboration projects on the subjects of heat pumps and energy storage.
Mr. Yann Kaplan: he is an engineer and the manager of Clauger's Energy Chemistry Department. He develops, with Ms BESSAGUET and Ms GRANGER and Mr. COURTOIS, the new thermal storage phase change material solutions.
Ms. Marion Bessaguet: she is a chemical engineer specialized in formulation for solids and fluids of phase change materials for the storage of thermal energy for high and low temperatures.
Ms. Claire Granger: she is a laboratory technician specialized in fluid formulation for the transport and storage of thermal energy. Also Ms. GRANGER studies some solid formulation of phase change material for various industrial applications.
Mr. Amaury Courtois: he is an engineer specialized in the realization of experimental thermal energy storage solution developed in advance by Clauger's Energetic chemistry laboratory.
Ms Sandrine Hingrez: she is an engineer in charge of energy optimization for heat pumps and thermal energy storage in Clauger and for task WP3 H2020.
Mr Benjamin Chazelle: he is a thermal engineer. He is specialized in thermal storage with PCM, his task will be to evaluate if the PCM meets all requirement to be easily integrated in an industrial thermal storage.
Mr. Abdelkader Bouziane: he is a doctor of science specialized in the digital simulation of exchangers for the optimization of thermal energy storage by the use of Phase Change Materials and other monophasic or diphasic fluids. Mr. BOUZIANE is also specialized in the optimization of thermal storage in water tank.
Mr. Sylvain Noel: he is an engineer specialized in technical support and studies the new product for the USA CLAUGER and FRANCE CLAUGER. He is specialized in heat pumps for the industrial application.
